I recently stayed at the Riu Palace Peninsula resort in Cancun’s Hotel Zone (my resort review and picture gallery should be up within two days). This was a great suite–a large balcony Jacuzzi with a great ocean and property view, even in my suite which was only one floor up from the lobby. FYI: don’t add too much bubble mixture to the Jacuzzi, you will wind up with a foam party. My daughter and I couldn’t stop laughing as the wind whipped the bubble foam over our balcony onto guests below. Since it was late at night they didn’t know what was going on or who the culprits were; at least resort staff/security didn’t pay us a visit!!
Definitely think of booking this room category; the balcony Jacuzzi and view were definitely worth an upgraded cost.
Take a few minutes to watch the video below–what do you think of this suite?
We stayed in the same room type years ago but We stayed in the Villas adult area. The shower room was even darker in our room and we made the same mistake of adding to much bubble bath in the outdoor jacuzzi and we had bubbles floating all over the resort. Haha. We travelled in January and had terrible luck with the weather. Having the outdoor Jacuzzi saved our trip.
We have a travel room divider that we purchased on Amazon for about $80 that we put between the nightstand on the bed and the indoor jacuzzi tub that shuts off the bathroom area from the bedroom. A MUST have if you hate “open concept” rooms like we do or if you travel with kids for some privacy. Best $80 we ever spent and have used about 4 trips already.
Great suggestion!! Also, nice to know I’m not the only one heavy on the bubbles….
