Have You Heard About The New Indigo Preferred Club Section At Dreams Sapphire?

Update:  While Dreams Sapphire recently posted a promo video of their Indigo section amenities and labelled it as their “Grand Opening”, I’m still not convinced it’s open to the general public.  I’m still waiting for Instagram pics or YouTube videos to come out…If anyone knows differently let me know.

Since I’m not a travel agent I’m always super slow in getting info about new resorts and resort renovations.  I just came across this info today–I was watching a YouTube video on Dreams Sapphire (it used to be called Now Sapphire) and noticed there was a massive construction project occurring on the south side of the property.  When I researched it I found out the resort is offering a brand new upgraded Preferred Club section in addition to their already existing Preferred Club rooms and amenities; it’s called Indigo, and it consists of 70 new suites and 10 two-story villas (each villa has two bedrooms and can accommodate 8 guests).  New non-villa room categories have ocean view, oceanfront, or beachfront views.  Villas offer tropical views.

Here’s what else this new section offers:

  • an adults-only rooftop pool with a swim-up bar and a sushi bar
  • access to the complete resort including all regular Preferred Club amenities
  • swim-up suite categories (these should be right on the beach just like the regular Preferred Club swim-up suites)
  • a new a la carte restaurant, Seaside Grill, only for Indigo guests

From my initial reading, it looks like regular Preferred Club guests will NOT have access to these new amenities, but Indigo guests have access to all non-Indigo Preferred Club amenities.

This section was supposed to open Sept. 1, 2024, but there’s nothing new showing on social media that I’m seeing to indicate it is indeed open.  Has anyone else run across any new info about an updated opening date??

Dreams Sapphire overall is a smaller resort but it has some great amenities like a separate adults-only pool if you want to chill away from the noise of the main pool, waterslides, a beach bar with swings (if they haven’t taken it away to make room for the new Indigo section), and its own disco.  I actually visited this resort in early Feb. 2020 right when COVID got started and unknowingly got COVID and became pretty sick on that trip, but I’m still alive to tell the story (obviously, but I had doubts…).  I never posted my resort review since my memories of the resort were tainted from being so ill, but these new additions make me want to go back and try the resort experience again.  Hey, if you can’t afford the new Indigo section, don’t forget about the existing Preferred Club swim-up rooms–right on the beach!  Now that is very rare for a swim-up.  Check it out here if you like.

I will keep trying to discover when this resort section will be open.  So, who’s going?
