Finest Playa Mujeres is one of the best family-friendly resorts in the Cancun area. For families of 5, the resort offers a non-upgraded Family Suite, Family Suite With Pool, and an upgraded Finest Club Family Suite. (The Excellence Club at this resort is the adults-only section). These suites only sleep five with a king bed in the living room area, a separate bedroom with 2 twin beds, and a sofa bed in the living room.
All children’s ages are welcome–the resort even offers access to baby amenities including a crib, baby tub, baby monitor, bottle warmer, bottle sterilizer, and high chair. There are three Kid’s Clubs including the following:
- Mini Club. For ages 0-6; children from 0–2 yrs. have to have a parent present at all times, while ages 3+ must be potty trained and can be left with staff without constant parental presence. This Kid’s Club also offers a small water park are and playground. Open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Maxi Club. For ages 7-11; this area offers video gaming, air hockey, board games, activities area, crafting, and its own small water park area. Open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Teens Club. For ages 12-15; teens are offered activities throughout the resort during the day and evening, so the activities are emphasized here instead of the actual Teens Club space. Water balloon fights, tennis clinics, bonfires at the beach–teens have all kinds of opportunities to socialize with their peers while having fun. Open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The resort also offers the Imagine Lounge; it’s special daycare just for breakfast and dinner hours for families who may want to drop off their kids for a shorter period of time in order to have an adults-only dinner or enjoy a spa treatment. The Imagine Lounge is open for children ages 3+ who are potty trained. Hours are 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., and 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
And here’s something extra for children–the spa even has special treatments for children and family options for those parents who want to introduce their children to this aspect of wellness and body care. Options include pedicures, manicures, mini-facials, and lavender massages (one child and one parent for this option).
Finest Playa Mujeres is a great resort; it’s one of my favorites in the Cancun area. I stayed here when it first opened and have never forgotten the wonderful service, great amenities, and good food.
So what do you think? Would you consider staying here with your family? Here’s a video to show you what a Family Suite looks like. It’s done by Top Flight Family which is a well regarded source for family travel.
