Here’s another suite review of a Cancun resort for those on a budget (the first one I reviewed was a swim-up suite at the Flamingo Cancun Resort Hotel). Few have probably heard of Emporio Cancun; it is an all-inclusive optional, meaning that vacationers who book don’t necessarily have the all-inclusive plan, so be careful if you are booking it yourself using a wholesaler. There are three basic meal plans: room-only (European Plan), bed and breakfast plan, and the all-inclusive plan.
This is a solid three+ star property with a great pool, prime stretch of beach in the Hotel Zone facing the Caribbean Sea, with more of a resort feel. This resort tends to be popular with Spanish-speaking individuals and Europeans, so don’t automatically expect that English will be the most-heard language while at the resort.
The positives–the pool, the beach, ocean views from many rooms, rooms with double Murphy beds for those with larger families, frequent deals and promotions, and a resort atmosphere. The negatives–limited dining choices, room service is extra, and decor you may not like (the resort has been very slowly updating everything for the last four years–renovations have been on the super slow track). If you are a “foodie” or require modern furnishings and the latest technology in the room, look elsewhere.
Check out the video below of a Jr. Suite–it’s very similar to the 2-bedroom Master Suite with one less bedroom. What do you think?
