Wow, I came across the news this morning, if anyone is familiar with Barcelo Maya Riviera which is part of the Barcelo resort complex in the Riviera Maya, their resort entrance completely collapsed !  Luckily no one was hurt.

Evidently crews had been working on a problem with the section since Thursday but the actual collapse occurred yesterday.  I stayed at this resort in Feb. 2020 and have stayed at the Caribe and Palace sections on another trip, so I am very familiar with this megaresort property as a whole.

For those of you staying at other resort sections besides the adults-only property, your vacation will not be affected since all other resorts are not allowed access to this adults-only property (Palace, Tropical, Colonial, Caribe, and Beach sections are not affected).  I’m sure they will be rigging up a new way to get into the actual lobby or figuring out another existing space in which to have guests check-in and out.
