I’ve stayed at both Hotel Xcaret Mexico and Hotel Xcaret Arte (see my resort reviews in this section of my blog), and have always wanted to enjoy a River Suite with a jump platform.  As a matter of fact, at Arte I booked this room category with the request to put me in a Jump River Suite since there has never been a separate category for this room type. Unfortunately I didn’t get my request (I think it might have been due to the original booking with a wholesaler and not directly with the resort), but I did get a complimentary upgrade to a River Spa Suite which turned out to be more than OK, but still disappointing since I had my heart set on jumping off my terrace into the river below.

From info I’ve come across since my stay at Arte, some vacationers have been able to book Jump River Suites but there has been vague info on exactly how to access this option–every time I check the resort’s website I find nada.  Every time I Google Jump River Suite at Arte I get nada.  So, first of all if anyone can give me a direct link to where I could book this option I would be eternally grateful.

But I have come across some other info which is somewhat disturbing as well–there are rumors that Hotels Xcaret will not be allowing guests to jump from their terrace platform into the river…WHAT???  Did somebody die or have serious injuries??  That would be the only reason I can think of which would bring about this change of policy (if anyone knows this info please share as well…).

Upon further investigation, I did read that Hotels Xcaret might be insisting that Jump River Suite guests need to wear a provided life jacket when jumping into the river from their terrace platform.  But how could they enforce this new rule?  Are they going to employ multiple life guards whistling people out of the river if they are jumping off without a life jacket?  Puzzling…
