And the votes are in and have been tallied. The winners are the following in Condé Nast’s 2026 Readers Choice awards..(I’m only going to list the all-inclusive/all-inclusive optional resorts)
- #2: Fairmont Mayakoba which is all-inclusive optional (family-friendly).
- #4: UNICO 20°87° Riviera Maya. Fully all-inclusive (adults-only).
- #5. Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya. I believe this one just became fully all-inclusive Oct. 1 2026 and is now adults-only (it used to be family-friendly).
- #6. Live Aqua Cancun Beach Resort. Fully all-inclusive and one of my favorite all-inclusive resorts (adults-only).
- #7. Secrets Maroma Beach. Fully-all-inclusive (adults-only and a popular honeymoon and anniversary resort).
- #9. Viceroy Riviera Maya. All-inclusive optional (adults-only). Extremely private villas and perfect for honeymooners or romantic getaways.
- #11. Garza Blanca Cancun. All-inclusive optional (family-friendly). This resort has several things going for it–multiple bedroom suites for larger travel parties and one bedroom+ suites have a built-in washer and dryer which is extremely rare at an all-inclusive resort.
- #12. Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets. Fully all-inclusive with a shared catamaran ride over to the island thrown in as a plus (adults-only). This resort was voted “Most Instagrammable Resort” for 2024 and 2025.
- #13. SLS Playa Mujeres. Fully all-inclusive (family-friendly with an adults-section). This is where I have to differ, I stayed at this resort a couple of years ago and thought it was meh, but I have to admit the food was good.
- #14. Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya. Fully all-inclusive (adults-only). Yay, I’m glad to see this smaller gem of a property is getting some accolades. I really enjoyed my stay here a couple of years ago and don’t miss the sushi counter at Tempest restaurant if you are thinking of going…
- #15. Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya. Became fully-all-inclusive Oct. 1, 2026. It still is a family-friendly property.
So, what do you think? Any surprises here? SLSPM was my surprise, I am also surprised that both Hotel Xcaret Arte and JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar were not included (especially when SLSPM is there).. Let me know in the comments section below what you think SHOULD have been included…
