If you are one of those vacationers who loves having your own pool or super easy access to a pool when on a hot and humid vacation, here’s another possibility for you to consider.

Grand Palladium’s megaresort complex in the Riviera Maya has a not so new anymore upgrade for families called the Family Selection.  Family Selection amenities can be found at the Kantenah resort which is located on the northernmost end of the megaresort property.  As part of their upgrade, the resort decided to build another entirely new guest room building (building #40 I believe) that is right on the beach and has several floors of rooms with the most up to date finishes and furnishings, and of course, all these rooms have access to the Family Selection amenities (re. private pool and bar, private restaurant, private Lounge, etc.).

In this new beachfront building are super large rooms with amenities like balcony Jacuzzis and swim-up rooms with their own pool.  Easy access to the beach and ocean, your own pool, large suites that accommodate 4, what else could you want? (Well, maybe a room that could accommodate 5 or more, but those can be hard to find especially when we are talking about premier room beach locations).

While I was unable to find a separate You Tube video about a beachfront swim-up room tour, here are a couple of videos which may give you an idea of the room set-up in this building as well as how large the swim-up pools actually are and how close they are to actual sand.

The first video is done by Straight Away Travel and highlights a suite with a balcony Jacuzzi–the views onto the swim-up pool are at around 1:20 into the video.  The second video is done by a Scottish gentleman who’s “handle” is Edinburgh and Beyond.  He does a very thorough job of doing a walk-through property tour and winds up at the Kantenah beach with views of building #40 and the swim-up pool starting at around 39:05 in the video (the video continues with the VIP area for TRS Yucatan guests with the new bar).  If you are interested in what the Kantenah resort looks like, this video will give you a very comprehensive look at the property.
