My Riu Playacar walk-through video has been up for awhile on YouTube, but I thought I’d post it since some readers may not visit that site with regularity. Take a look–here’s what the new renovations look like.
After closing several months for a complete renovation, Riu Playacar opened its doors Oct. 2015 to a practically brand new resort. I last saw this quaint Mexican beauty Feb. 2013 and there have been many significant changes since then. Here is a list of the most notable additions/renovations: Continue reading
The big day is here! Riu Playacar is opening Oct. 10 after several months of being closed due to a total renovation. Here are some initial pics with more to follow.
Riu Playacar is still scheduled to open this Saturday on Oct. 10. Reportedly there have been many more workers hired to finish the renovation on time–as of a few days ago, the lobby was still being worked on. The entire resort will not be finished by the 10th, however, they will still be working on one of the larger guest room buildings by the beach according to the most recent news.
Here is another artist rendering of the supposed renovations–this one is at the pool.
If you have a Facebook account you’ve probably already seen artist renderings from the Riu homepage in their photo section. Looks a bit like the layout of Riu Palace Mexico, especially the new pool area. What do you think?
The Riu website has posted an artist rendering of what some of the renovations will look like at the Riu Playacar. Click on the Riu website link, find “Multimedia” listing with the camera logo, and click on this camera. You will find six pictures of the rooms and pools. What do you think of this new look?
The Riu Playacar is completely shutting down from April 27, 2015, to Oct. 10, 2015. There are many rumors bandied about as to what exactly will be done to the resort during this renovation, but no final word. The fact that it is being re-opened almost six months after its closure would suggest that it is a thorough renovation, not a complete teardown (originally, the resort was supposed to be closed for one year to make it an adults-only Riu Palace property). Time will tell–check back for further information on this matter!
