The new addition to Karisma’s El Dorado Seaside Suites will open for business winter 2015 after a lengthy renovation project. Originally, it was slated to open Nov. 1 but the opening date has been delayed to sometime in winter 2015 (guesses are sometime in December). In actuality, this new addition will become the new El Dorado Seaside Suites while the older property will now be referred to as Sensimar Seaside Suites and Spa. The “old” El Dorado Seaside Suite section appears to be under contract with Tui (a German-based travel company) which sells packages mostly to European clients (Thomson is a big seller of Tui-contracted properties). Karisma already has a Sensimar section at El Dorado Royale and all guests are allowed to use the Tui facilities in contracted sections. While the “old” EDSS rooms are slated for the European market, the new EDSS resort is open to everyone. All guests were originally supposed to receive a complimentary upgrade to the new section, but since the opening has been delayed, it is unclear at this time whether the upgrade will be taking place once the new EDSS opens and how long it will last.
If you have a Facebook account, you have probably already seen some of the artist renderings or models of the new addition to EDSS. Reportedly, this new addition is on the north side of Hidden Beach Resort and resembles Generations Riviera Maya. Here are some of the artist renderings I discovered, if you haven’t seen them already.
