The renovations seem to be taking more time than was originally planned for the Royal Hideaway Playacar; looks like the deadline for the completion has gone from Nov. 15 to Dec. 20, 2016. Here is a list of what has been completed or is going to be worked on during the renovation process:
- all guest rooms will be renovated
- the theater will be closed during its renovation process
- there will be the addition of a new sports bar
- the piano bar will be renovated
- Bar Allegria will be renovated
- the Deck restaurant and Grill restaurant will be closed during its renovation process
- expansion of the gym and spa
In order to minimize the disruption to guests during this process, Barceló has decided to postpone any new bookings they might receive for mid-Nov. While my dummy booking didn’t work for Nov. 12-19, it did state there were room availabilities Nov.19-26. The resort has tried to assure guests that noise and disruption of services will be at a minimum; however, with so much of the resort being renovated there is going to be some disruption of service and some amenities will be closed temporarily. It just depends on whether you want to deal with this on your vacation–or not.
