For those of you interested in the luxury adults-only resort (age 16+), Atelier Playa Mujeres, there’s a brand new video out done by one of my favorite videographers, 3 Days 3 Noches (Blanche). She does a great job in her resort reviews by giving her audience a thorough overview of a resort property.
Better late than never…the much anticipated new waterslide opened today at Xplor Park in the Riviera Maya. It’s a 5-in-1 waterslide which contains four different stages of descent from 135 feet to a wave pool which will take 1 min. and 15 seconds. There are 4 visitors to a raft, and minimum height to ride is 4 feet 2 inches; minimum age to ride is 5. All riders must know how to swim. Best news is that this new ride is included in price of admission!
For those of you thinking of staying at Secrets Playa Mujeres in 2024, be aware that Hyatt has cancelled the planned renovations for this year.
I don’t typically travel to the Caribbean during hurricane season, but I have done it before and think it’s always a good idea to know what you may be facing if you book way in advance for travel to this area. I got stuck once in Cancun for one day due to a bad tropical storm, got rained out on one vacation (nothing but gray skies and rain), and when I visited my very first all-inclusive in Jamaica many (many) years ago I had predictable rain for 1 hr. every day after lunch. And my travel agent at the time never warned me that I was traveling during hurricane season…
Interested in the brand new adults-only Hyatt Vivid Grand Island resort in Cancun? This new resort is located on the Nichupté Lagoon side in the Hotel Zone, it’s not beachfront as most all-inclusive resorts are situated in Cancun. I haven’t posted since before I left my latest Mexico trip, so here’s a quick recap of changes I’ve noticed just from the trip I took Dec. 2023.
Hyatt’s newest adults-only resort, Hyatt Vivid Grand Island, is still scheduled to open April 1, 2024. It will be the first of a two-part resort to open with the second being an adjoining family-friendly resort option called Dreams Grand Island, but the Dreams resort is still being completed and will not open at the same time. When it does open, guests of the new Hyatt will have access to the second resort–stay at one play at two. I already posted an article about the new Hyatt and you can read it here.
If you’ve been reading my recent posts you already know that I took a 10 day solo vacay in the Riviera Maya in Dec. 2023. This video is my swim-up room at the last resort I stayed at, Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya. This property used to be Secrets Capri; the resort was closed for complete renovations and reopened Dec. 1, 2022 as a Hyatt Zilara property (all Hyatt Zilara resorts are adults-only, while Hyatt Ziva are family-friendly resorts). The room category shown in the video is a Tropical View Swim-Up King.
I found a helpful video about the newly opened Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres; it highlights what the resort is doing to cover the major resort amenities which haven’t been completed yet (like the theater and the spa).
