The Grand Velas in the Riviera Maya recently completed an A/C update in its Zen Grand accommodations section. Because this section of rooms is in the middle of the Mayan jungle, there was a tendency for the rooms to be a bit damp and humid-smelling (if you’ve ever been to the Riviera Maya you probably are familiar with that damp smell) which, at times, caused some respiratory problems for some guests.
As a result, they have added a series of filters to the A/C systems and sealed guest room doors more tightly. Restaurants in this section of the resort have also had the same updates. Hopefully, all guests can breathe a bit easier with these improvements.
