The new Dreams resort, Dreams Playa Mujeres, has just announced that they will be adding an interactive dolphin program to the resort in the summer of 2017. For those of you who have objections to this type of program, it is important to know this prior to booking. Just a heads up.
The wait is over for the new Dreams resort in Playa Mujeres–it officially opened as scheduled on Nov. 30, 2016. While additional information is still trickling in, it appears that many amenities are fully functional, but not all (as more information comes in I will post it here). Here are some initial pics of the various areas of the resort; check out the Dreams Playa Mujeres Facebook page, or go to Kristin Shadi’s Facebook page (the Vacation Couple who cover luxury resorts for Escapes.ca–most of these pics are from their visit).
Since I will be going to this resort in Feb. I have been following them on social media and learned that the resort will now be allowing everyone to use the beachfront infinity pool (which had been adults-only); they are also thinking of allowing everyone to use the lazy river (which I believe would have been a policing nightmare) so hold off on that upgrade if that’s the only reason you are feeling the need to upgrade–it may not be necessary.
While I have done an extensive amount of travel in 2016, I admit with chagrin that none of it has been to Cancun. However, this is going to change in 2017. I’ve decided to kick my resort visits into high gear by visiting Dreams Playa Mujeres and Riu Cancun in February 2017. (Dreams resort is for myself, while Riu Cancun will be for my adult son who will be traveling with myself and my husband). Nothing like trying to make everyone happy on vacation. Can’t wait–so excited to be visiting this new Dreams resort! Especially anticipating the lazy river (only for Preferred Club upgraded guests) as well as the all-ages waterpark! (That should be a hoot!) Since Dreams Playa Mujeres’ pools are all heated, there should be no problem taking full advantage of all water-related amenities. There are supposed to be new photos being posted of the resort’s progress within the next few days; those of you who have FB should visit the Dreams Playa Mujeres page to get the latest pics. Although I will try to post some of them when they come out, sometimes resorts get a little huffy about posting their new resort progress pics–I don’t know what the big deal is, it’s free advertising. Stay tuned!
There is not much out yet on this resort because it is still being built, but here is a collection of the computer generated photos of what the resort is supposed to look like when it’s done. Are you planning on staying here when it opens in November 2016?
